Fort Morgan, CO. 03/22/17.  Morgan Community College (MCC) Center for Arts and Community Enrichment (CACE) recognizes three student’s work that have been selected by this year’s jury and for their exemplary of craft and creativity.Brush High School student Toby Uhrig standing next to his ceramic piece, “Straight Vase."

Congratulations to Brush High School student Toby Uhrig for being chosen for this year’s “Best of Show” Award for his ceramic piece, “Straight Vase.” MCC student Kendall Williams’ painting, “Horizontal Connections,” received an “Award of Excellence” in the Secondary/Post-Secondary category; and the Middle School “Award of Excellence” went to Erik Lebsock from Prairie Middle School for his drawing, “Bird’s Eye View.”

This marks the sixth annual “Best of the Best” student art exhibition which featured student work from MCC, FMHS, FMMS, BHS, BMS, WHS, Lincoln High School, and Prairie School.

The community is invited to view the exhibit at the CACE Gallery of Fine Art (300 Main Street, Fort Morgan) through April 7, 2017. Friday visitors will also have the opportunity to vote for a student’s work to receive this year’s “People’s Choice” Award.

Student recognition has been made possible through the support of local businesses. This year’s awards were sponsored by Ehrlich Toyota East, Morgan Lanes, and Willow Coffee, Tea and Smoothies.

The CACE Gallery of Fine Art is open every Friday evening from 4 to 6 p.m., and is often open for visitation during weekday business hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
