Loyalty Oath

Policy

Colorado Law Section 22-61-104, C.R.S. requires that "every person [except citizens of other countries who are hired into temporary position] employed to teach in any... community college... in the State of Colorado, before entering upon... the discharge of his duties" shall take a loyalty oath which reads as follows:

"I solemnly (swear) (affirm) that I will uphold the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Colorado, and I will faithfully perform the duties of the position upon which I am about to enter."

Procedure

  1. As a condition of employment or continued employment, professional staff of Morgan Community College are required to sign and file the loyalty oath with the College.
  2. The oath of allegiance shall be filed in each professional employee's official personnel file in the Personnel Office for contractual employees and in the office of the appropriate Dean for part-time temporary professional personnel.
