College Policy on Employee Recognition

Policy

The college will recognize employees for the following:
  1. Years of Service

 Special recognition will be given to employees at 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 years of service. The recognition will include awarding each employee a MCC lapel pin with the appropriate years of service and a Certificate of Appreciation. In addition, a designated gift will be given for ten and more years of service.  (Years of service will be calculated from the date an employee became eligible for benefits.)

These will be given at the end of each college year.

  1. Retirement

Employees who retire will be honored by the College with a retirement reception and official college gift.

  1. Leaving College Employment (other than retirement)

Individuals who leave the college with two or more years of service will be presented with a gift thanking them for their contribution to the college.

  1. Classified Employee of Year/Faculty Member of Year

Each person will receive a gift from the college, their name placed on the appropriate recognition plaque at the college, and formally recognized at a college function. In addition, each will be given a reserved parking space for one year.

  1. Advisory Council

Advisory Council and MCC Foundation members will be given a college lapel pin, college pen and name tag at the time of appointment. Upon completion of service a plaque and appropriate gift will be given.

  1. Miscellaneous
  1. Individuals, departments, or other college groups may have special activities or present gifts for any of the above. (These costs will not be at college expense.)
  2. Employee includes full-time and permanent part-time personnel (i.e. those eligible for benefits). Only full-time or permanent part-time years of service will be counted for recognition.
