Identity Guidelines

CP 3-75

Policy

Morgan Community College is seeking a consistent brand identity locally and throughout the state.  The logos adopted January 2001 to identify Morgan Community College, along with the Colorado Community College System endorsement brand, will appear on all printed/visual media.  the use of the logos and related materials must follow MCC guidelines, and the MCC Marketing and Communications office must approve all visual and radio and television materials prepared for MCC customers.

Procedure

A draft of materials prepared for MCC customers must be presented to the Marketing and Communications office to develop a timeline for production with assistance from the Marketing office to ensure a consistent and excellent MCC identity.

Guidelines

  1. The Morgan Community College logo is composed of the circular roadrunner and 'Morgan Community College' in two lines.  The signature must always be reproduced from hard copy or electronic artwork distributed by MCC Marketing and Communications.  It can be sized, but must never be redrawn, cut apart, stacked, condensed, elongated, embellished, or altered in any way.

2. MCC Centers and departments and addresses may be centered underneath, the same width as the logo. A line is to be drawn immediately below the logo, with information set in Century Gothic (or if not available, Arial or Helvetica) fonts. Center or department names will be typed in all capitals and other information will be set in capitals and lower case.

4. Anytime just the letters 'MCC' or 'Morgan Community College' without art are desired they are to be set in Century Gothic:

MCC or MORGAN COMMUNITY COLLEGE

5. Letterheads, envelopes, business cards, labels, and name badges are to be consistent with these guidelines and are to be ordered from the MCC Bookstore. On the letterhead, the College logo only is to be placed on the left side. Any information desired may be added in no more than three lines on the right side. Letterheads are printed in Wedgewood blue on State Bond, white, and business cards are on Astro Parche Sand.  See the Marketing office for examples.

C. In addition, MCC will follow the System's mandate that the Colorado Community College System (CC of C) logo be used as an endorsement to MCC logos, "The endorsement must appear wherever a member college logo is displayed, unless it is physically not possible."

There are very specific guidelines for use of the CC of C logo as far as size, placement, and colors. It must always be reproduced from approved hard copy or electronic artwork available from MCC Marketing & Communications or from the CC of C Vice President of Communications.
