Requirements for Certificates and Associate Degrees

CP 9-10

Procedure

The awarding of Associate Degrees and Certificates will be governed by the following requirements:
  1. To receive a certificate or degree an application for graduation must be filed with the Student Services Office no later than the fourth week of the term in which the student plans to graduate. Students completing graduation requirements in the summer term who want to participate in graduation ceremonies in the previous spring term must file a graduation application by the fourth week of the spring term.

Participation in the graduation ceremony does not imply that a degree/certificate has been awarded. ALL degree requirements must be met before a degree/certificate is awarded.

  2. No remedial or developmental courses will be applicable to an associate degree program.
  3. The college reserves the right to substitute or delete course work based on current curriculum.
  4. No more than three semester hours of physical education activity courses may be applied to an Associate Degree program.
  5. To complete an Associate Degree program or Certificate, students are required to complete the requirements in effect at the time of initial enrollment as specified in the college catalog.
