Student Evaluation of Instructor


CP 9-25 


Policy

The Dean of Arts & Sciences and Dean of Applied Science & Technology will choose classes each semester in which student evaluations will be administered.  All faculty will be evaluated.

 

Procedure

  1. The instructor should:
  1. Set the tone for the evaluation process
  2. Explain the reasons for the evaluation process
  3. Stress the confidentiality of the information
  4. Assure that the instructor will not see the responses until the final grades are in
  5. Should encourage students to write written comments on scantron sheet
  1. Students evaluations will be administered by a student volunteer from within the class. After the student has been identified, the instructor will leave the classroom.
  2. The student volunteer will collect the completed forms and return them to the library in the envelope provided.
  3. The student volunteer will return to the classroom.

Timeline for Processing of Evaluations

By September 1 of each year, the Dean of Arts & Sciences and Dean of Applied Science & Technologies will develop and distribute a schedule for the school year for the administration of student evaluations.
