Press Release

January 09, 2014 at 4:02 PM

Fort Morgan, CO. 01/09/14.  Morgan Community College (MCC) is hosting the sixth annual photo exhibit of the Morgan County Shutterbugs Photography Club. Six photographers share their work, currently on display in both Cottonwood and Spruce Halls at the Fort Morgan campus (920 Barlow Road).

This year’s featured photographers are Don Jordan, Jack Hart, Leslie Weinheim, Roger Gallagher, Sandy Engle, and Sue Hodgson. These photographs can also be seen online at http://www.flickr.com/photos/morganccedu.

“There is such an array of images on display, I would encourage the community to take the time to visit and enjoy the work of these artists,” said Director of College Communications & Marketing Katie Barron.

The exhibit features subjects from around the world as well as close to home. The art of photography captures something ordinary from a new perspective, in a new or unusual light, or at an opportune moment. Some of the pieces are for sale. Viewing of the work is free, and open to the public.

The Morgan County Shutterbugs Photography Club meets the first Monday of every month at MCC, in Cottonwood 100 at 6:00 p.m.  Members participate in photo contests, learn from tutorial videos and pod casts, share their work, and plan for future display events.

The Club was organized in January 2006, by former local resident Vincent Gearhart. The purpose of the club is to allow members to learn more about photography and to have the opportunity to share their work with others who are interested in photography as a hobby or as a profession.
