MCC Announces Fall Scholarships

Fort Morgan, CO. 07/28/15. The Financial Aid Office at Morgan Community College (MCC) is pleased to announce the awarding of nearly $114,000 to 131* students through privately funded scholarships this fall. Individuals, organizations and foundations in the community have generously donated to the MCC Foundation to promote student success at MCC.

"Great College" Recognition Five Years in a Row

Fort Morgan, CO. 07/20/15. For the fifth year in a row, Morgan Community College (MCC) is one of the best colleges in the nation to work for, according to a survey by The Chronicle of Higher Education. The results, released today in The Chronicle’s eighth annual report on The Academic Workplace, are based on a survey of 281 colleges and universities.

MCC Students Relive the Battle of Arickaree Fork

Fort Morgan, CO. 07/16/15. Students from Morgan Community College Burlington Center recently completed a field trip to the Beecher Island Battlefield (also known as the Battle of the Arickaree Fork), site of a local battle of the Plains Indian Wars located in Yuma County between Wray and Burlington.

Fort Morgan, CO. 03/20/14.  Morgan Community College's Center for Arts and Community EnrichmentImage: “Untitled,” by Friederike Hewitt, Morgan Community College (CACE) is proud to announce the third annual art exhibition featuring the “Best of the Best” student artwork from Fort Morgan area secondary and post-secondary schools. The exhibit opens Friday, March 28 at 4 p.m. at the CACE Gallery of Fine Art, located at 300 Main Street in Fort Morgan.

“We are thrilled that area schools have agreed to take part in this exciting opportunity,” noted CACE Visual Arts Chair Rachel Kellum. Each school will be submitting 5–15 pieces of outstanding student artwork which will be reviewed by a jury of three. All area schools were invited to participate. Selected pieces will be exhibited from Morgan Community College, Fort Morgan High School and Middle School, Wiggins High School and Middle School, Weldon Valley High School and Middle School, and Brush High School from March 28 through May 9, 2014.

Image: “Bowl of Wonder,” by Kelsey Shaver, Fort Morgan Middle School.An opening reception honoring student artists and their families will take place on the evening of Friday, March 28, from 4 to 6 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided. The public is invited to attend and help celebrate the accomplishments local student artists.                                                                    

The CACE Gallery of Fine Art is open every Friday evening from 4 to 6 p.m., and is often open for visitation during weekday business hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. If the gallery sign is on the sidewalk, it's open!
