The Center for Arts and Community Enrichment (CACE) at Morgan Community College (MCC) is pleased to announce both the photography exhibition and poetry reading of Kit Hedman at the CACE Gallery of Fine Art. The show will open on Friday, January 27, 2012 and run through March 16 at 300 Main Street.
Selected artwork will be displayed at the Gallery, in conjunction with Hedman’s exhibit. Entries must be less than 60” tall, 44” wide, and weigh less than 25 pounds. Kit Hedman studied film at the Cinémathèque Française and City College San Francisco. He has worked as a freelance photographer for the San Francisco Examiner and Navajo Times, and his photographs have appeared in diverse publications including Rolling Stone, Mother Jones and Shaman's Drum, among others. A recipient of several art grants and art awards, he currently owns a photography studio in Denver. A poet as well, Hedman enjoys the challenge of creating images that speak to the imaginative. He performs his poetry in readings around the state and works with Art From Ashes, Inc. to bring poetry into inner city classrooms and homeless youth shelters.
