Students Alia Buchholz and Genna Cochran, both enrolled at Morgan Community College Limon Center, have been nominated by MCC’s Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society (PTK) to represent MCC on the All-USA Community College Colorado Academic Team. “They couldn't have selected two more lovely, smart and ‘keep 'em on your radar for their futures are bright’ young ladies,” commented Mary Andersen, MCC Limon Center Director. “These ladies will represent MCC very well!”
The All-USA Community College Academic Team is presented by USA TODAY and Phi Theta Kappa and sponsored by Follett Higher Education Group. Each school nominates two students. The top twenty students selected for the National All-USA College and Community College Team will receive a $2,500 cash award and will receive national recognition. Judges consider grades, academic rigor, growth and how well the students use their education to benefit their schools and communities. The program is administered by Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society.
These students will be featured in the USA TODAY newspaper and presented at Phi Theta Kappa's Presidents Breakfast held during the Annual Convention of the American Association of Community Colleges Convention (AACC) on April 23, 2012, in Orlando, Florida. |
