The Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree includes courses traditionally taught during the first two years of a Bachelor of Arts degree program and is transferrable to four-year institutions. An Associate of Arts (A.A.) graduate who meets the gtPathways transfer requirements can enter a four-year Colorado public college or university as a junior and complete a bachelor degree program.
The Associate of Science (A.S.) degree includes courses traditionally taught during the first two years of a Bachelor of Science degree program and may transfer to four-year institutions. An Associate of Science (A.S.) graduate who meets the gtPATHWAYS transfer requirements can enter a four-year Colorado public college or university as a junior and complete a Bachelor degree program.
Attention!If you are transfering to another Colorado college that is not covered under the 60+60 Transfer or an out-of-state college, contact your advisor or the advisor from that institution, however in most instances, the MCC A.A. or A.S. degrees will be transferred in as the equivalent of the first two years of a four-year Bachelor's degree.
Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.)
The Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree is intended to prepare students to enter skilled and/or paraprofessional occupations and is not intended for transfer toward a baccalaureate degree; however, some courses may transfer to some institutions. Academic advisors should be consulted for further information.
Students that do NOT plan to transfer to a four-year school but who want to pursue a self-designed program of study may pursue an A.G.S. Students selecting this major should work closely with an academic advisor to select coursework which meets their individual needs.
