Morgan Community College offers a wide range of testing services for its students and the surrounding communities. A variety of tests are administered including standardized tests, assessment/placement tests, instructor/course tests, exams from other universities and guided study tests.
HOURS Spring and Fall Semesters Summer Session
ACCUPLACER Online
Fee: None for admitted students
Computerized Placement Test (52 questions) designed to provide placement, advisement, and guidance information for students entering higher education. All students entering any one of the College's degree programs or those entering ENG 121, MAT 121, or MAT 135 will be require to take an exam unless they have documentation of assessment scores from another 2-year Colorado college completed within the last 5 years, ACT scores of Reading 17, English 18, Math 23, or proof of an Associate Degree (AA or AS) or high. Placement test can only be taken 3 times in one semester. A fee of $5 per test is charged if third test is administered or scores are for another school. CLEP
Fee: $102 per test
College Level Examination Program. Computer-based testing-1 ½ hours. Credit awarded for prior learning. See MCC handbook for approved credit available. Additional information at www.collegeboard.com/clep
DSST
Fee: $105 per test
Defense Activity for Nontraditional Education Support. Computer-based testing-no time limit. Credit awarded for prior learning. See MCC handbook for approved credit available. Additional information at www.getcollegecredit.com
CHALLENGE TESTS
Fee: 1/2 of tuition for course challenged
Administered to MCC students for specific courses listed in the catalog. Students must be registered for or have completed one credit hour of course work at MCC. A challenge examination may not be re-taken.
GED
Fee: $150 fee for all five (5) tests.
$30 for additional tests and retests General Educational Development (7 ½ hours for all 5 tests) Official GED exams given in English and Spanish to candidates 17 years of age and older who have never been awarded a high school diploma or an equivalency certificate. Applicants must have a Colorado mailing address and not be enrolled in an accredited high school. TESTING IS HELD: Appointments must be made prior to testing sessions by calling Fort Morgan at 970-542-3188, Burlington at 719-346-9300, and Limon at 719-775-8873. Registration
Score Requirement
A minimum score of 2250 points for all five tests is needed, which averages to 450 points per test. However, scores below 410 on any one of the given tests mandates that a candidate must repeat this test regardless of total score. Retesting
The GED battery consists of 5 tests:

INSTRUCTOR/GUIDED STUDIES
MCC test center provides testing services for our faculty and students, as well as, for students attending other colleges and universities. Testing services include administering makeup exams for classroom, guided studies, and off-campus courses.
MEASURE OF ACADEMIC PROFICIENCY AND PROGRESS
All full-time degree seeking students need to take the Measure of Academic Proficiency and Progress test during their last semester before graduation. The MAPP provides MCC with information about the effectiveness of their degree programs.
HESI NURSING TEST
Fee: $39
Nurse entrance test required for new students enrolling in nursing program. Test scores are good for two years. The NET study guide is available in the MCC book-store or online at www.eriworld.com.
NLN
Fee: $75 per test
National League of Nursing offers Acceleration Challenge Examination to facilitate educational mobility by providing educators with an instrument for diagnostic evaluation of the nursing knowledge of applicants. Two test books-Foundations of Nursing and Nursing Care during Childbearing/Nursing Care of the Child-each test lasts 3 1/2 hours.
VOCATIONAL BASIC SKILLS
Fee: Written- $30
Oral- $10 Vocational teachers seeking Colorado Department of Education Certification Teaching certificates. Vocational Basic Skills (written) will be given by appointment. The oral test is given by appointment made two weeks prior to the exam.
