AQIP COMMUNICATION PROJECT
Well, here we are at the end of
the semester, with another year under our belt in the ongoing AQIP
accreditation process. This month’s newsletter features the Communication
Action Project.
Responding to a number of questions, here’s what team members had to
say:
- What is the project?
Optimizing institutional effectiveness by externally communicating
MCC’s success stories and opportunities.
- Who are the team members?

Team members: Top Row (L-R) Connie Mese, Sally Nestor, Kim Maxwell,
Paula Salmon (top), Mary Zorn. Center Row: Gisela Mendez,
Kent Bauer, Julie Waters. Bottom Row: Valerie Rhoades, Tim Grauberger,
Rachel Meschke, Gwen Steffen. Not Pictured: Anissa Buhring, Jaylene
Evans, Laurie Morris.
- What has happened with the
project so far?
A student survey was distributed by team members Sally Nestor and
Kim Maxwell, with results presented to various groups, including the
MCC Advisory Council, MLT, and the entire Communication Team itself.
- What will happen next?
The team will review results of the survey, along with information
taken from the Northeast Colorado Council of Government’s survey
completed earlier this spring. If enough data is available, we hope
to create benchmarks focusing on communication.
- What has the project revealed to us about ourselves as an
institution?
It is difficult to answer this question at this point, because we
only just back the data from our surveys and have not yet analyzed
it.
- How does the team expect this
project will improve MCC as an institution (what will be the
outcome)?
Hopefully, it will give us direction on better ways to reach our
external markets and utilize our resources more adequately. We
envision increased enrollment as a result.
