Morgan Community College is pleased to offer the MCC Business Partnership Program in partnership with El Pomar Foundation for a fourth year to provide access to quality training for Small Business Entrepreneurs within its service area. The College will accept applications to the program and will select ten students based on applications and a letter of recommendation from business partners (non-family). Students will enroll in a two (2) three-credit classes. The courses will meet Thursdays beginning August 25 and run through December 2016. During that time students will use course materials including software that will allow them to develop a Business Plan, projecting costs and return on investment.
Each student must furnish their own laptop computer. Instruction will include group meetings, field trips, seminars, technology and one-on-one mentoring for each student. Tuition and fees for the classes will also be paid by the grant.
At the end of the course a non-college panel of judges will select the three best Business Plans according to criteria developed in advance by these individuals and three prizes will be awarded:
