Kaiser Permanente - $27,294.00

1.  Raising match:

  • $1-for-$1 matching funds
  • Designated for scholarships
  • Private, non-governmental

2.  Timeframe: 2015-2016 match must be raised between July 1, 2015 and June 30, 2016 to be awarded in the 2016-2017 academic year.

3.  Use of Funds:

  • Scholarships in the range of $1,000-5,000 per year for students in the health sciences
  • Scholarship covers tuition assistance, including tuition, fees, books or supplies

4.  Student eligibility criteria:

  • Enrollment in a health science program
  • Must have a 2.0 GPA to receive scholarship and a 3.0 if being renewed for a second year

5.  Prioritize when awarding:

  • Student in Kaiser Permanente’s preferred program areas
  • Preference given to create ethnic, cultural and gender diversity among scholarship recipients. Additional special preference to first generation and low socio-economic class students.

6.  Scholarship Committee should be comprised of the following:

  • Healthcare education program advisory boards composed of faculty, secondary education representatives, industry representatives and college administrators
  • Local healthcare employers
  • Local workforce centers (state agencies charged with strategic workforce development)

 

Colorado Department of Higher Education – Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative (COSI) - $10,920

1.   Raising match:

  • $1-for-$1 matching funds
  • Designated for scholarships
  • Private, non-governmental
  • New money: from new donors, increased giving or renewed lapsed donors

2.  Timeframe: 2015-2016 match must be raised between July 1, 2015 and June 30, 2016 to be awarded in the 2016-2017 academic year.

3.  Use of Funds:

  • Scholarships for Colorado students who are US citizens
  • Last $ in
  • Scholarship covers tuition assistance, including tuition, fees, books, housing, food and transportation

4.  Student eligibility criteria:

  • Colorado students
  • Up to 250% Pell eligible (This translates to an EFC of approximately $13,000 and an approximate family income range up to $45,000-78,000.)
  • Participation in a rigor-based student success program
  • Enrollment in a community college course or a degree or certificate program
  • Complete all coursework with a C or better to remain eligible

5.   Prioritize when awarding:

  • Degree seeking students
  • Goal: Reduce the attainment gap by half by 2020 - Strong preference to create ethnic diversity among scholarship recipients.

 

Colorado Department of Education – Early Childhood Education - $5,137.00

1.   Raising match:

  • $1-for-$1 matching funds
  • Designated for scholarships
  • Private, non-governmental
  • A defined portion of your matching funds must be applied toward ECE scholarships

2.  Timeframe:

  • 2015-2016 match must be raised in time to award scholarships for the 2015-2016 academic year
  • 2016-2017 match must be raised and distributed by September 2016.

3.  Use of Funds:

  • Scholarships for students studying early childhood education
  • Last $ in
  • Scholarship covers the cost of tuition, fees and books

4.  Student eligibility criteria:

  • Enrollment in a community college ECE course, program certificate, or degree program
  • Use the scholarship to continue that course of study
  • Complete all coursework with a C or better to remain eligible

5.  Prioritize when awarding:

  • Degree and certificate seeking students closer to degree completion
  • Students currently employed in the field of Early Childhood Education

6.  College ECE Department Responsibilities:

  • Maintain NAEYC accreditation (if we have it)
  • Participate in the Early Childhood Faculty Coalition
  • Participate annually in the Early Childhood Faculty Institute
  • Assign current Early Childhood Professional/Provider (in addition to faculty) participating on the ECC Department Advisory Board to serve on the scholarship award committee
  • Participate in the local Early Childhood Council
  • Require individual scholarship recipients to enroll in Colorado’s Professional Development Information System

The MCC Foundation Scholarship Committee will determine the individuals who will receive matching funds.
