II. Student Success Goal: The demands of Colorado businesses and communities shall be met through the development of a high skilled work force.

I.  Student Access Goal: All Coloradans shall have access to comprehensive community college educational programs.

  • June 15-17 was College for Kids for a group of 4th-7th advanced learners from Wiggins.
  • Health occupations information sessions were held on June 14 and August 10.
  • MCC held Saturday one-stop registration morning on August 21 to accommodate prospective students who needed weekend access to the college.
  • Two well-attended orientation sessions for new students were held -one in the evening and one on a Saturday morning-to acquaint them with college personnel, computer logins, library services, student life, and bookstore services.
  • A new catalog 2010-11 is ready for print following a delay for updated policy information.
  • Construction is nearing completion on MCC's new health science wing that moves that instruction area into a new era of technology and expanded space. Health careers continue to be in high demand.
  • The Summer Institute for Educators featured early childhood education classes with a highly successful kick-off day on June 12 with speakers and vendors. Dr. Ruth Tryon coordinated the event.
  • Enrollment numbers show a 13% increase over enrollment for fall 2009.
  • Dan Marler and MCC were recognized by the Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, Don Mares, and Governor Ritter specifically for all of his assistance with the Career Explorations Camp this summer.
  • MCC has had a presence at county fairs, festivals and community fund raisers over the summer.
