MCC Foundation
The MCC Foundation was formed in 1971 and soon after its formation, accepted a gift of a Morgan County farm from Virginia and Carl Johnson. Since then it has continued to be one of the major resources available to Morgan Community College for the support of students, faculty, staff, and facilities in the 11,500 square mile service area.
The purpose of the Foundation is to support the college programs and the students served by MCC. The following activities are conducted by the Foundation to raise monies to carry out its purpose: The annual Gala, the annual Pro-Am golf tournament, appeal letters, establishment of endowments, planned giving, and grant applications.
During the 2006-2007 MCC fiscal year, the Foundation awarded over $62,000 in scholarships to MCC students. The financial support for these scholarships came from individuals, businesses and organizations giving annual scholarships, endowments created especially for scholarships, and grants awarded to the foundation for special scholarship assistance. This financial assistance allows many students to further their education and realize their goals for the future. Without the support of the Foundation and its supports this may not happen for many for many of the students.
Please join the Foundation Board of Directors and the Foundation staff in helping to provide the resources that will insure the development and growth of educational programs and opportunities needed by the people in the MCC service area. There are many ways to give. To learn more see "How to give"
