Fort Morgan, CO. 01/23/13. Hundreds of patrons filled the Glenn Miller Auditorium last weekend to take
in The University of Wyoming performance of “From the Ashes: A Cinderella Ballet,” directed by Jennifer Deckert. Many in the audience were young ballerinas excited for the chance to see the stage recital—and they were not disappointed.
“I loved seeing the ballet in our hometown and would love to see more,” said Leah Walraven of Fort Morgan describing the evening’s event. The colorful flowing costumes, fantastic music, movement and portrayal left the audience wanting more. “Bravo! Great show!” exclaimed Melissa White of Brush.
The dance troupe had spent the day teaching two workshops to local dance studios: Candy’s Dance Academy, In the Spotlight Dance Academy, School of Performing Arts, and Vicki’s School of Dance & Gymnastics. Many students were in the audience for the performance as well.
Morgan Community College (MCC) Center for Arts and Community Enrichment (CACE) partnered with The University of Wyoming Fine Arts Outreach Office to bring classical ballet to Fort Morgan as part of their three-state tour noted Dr. Kerry Hart, MCC President. He added that “CACE will continue to bring high quality performances, artists, and speakers to Fort Morgan.”
