Fort Morgan, CO. 08/23/12. The Assistant Secretary to the U.S. Department of Education, Brenda Dann-Messier, will visit Morgan Community College (MCC) on August 27. The media is invited to attend an open session from 2:30 to 2:45 p.m. in Spruce Hall room 310 on the Fort Morgan campus.
The Assistant Secretary and staff will begin their visit with a tour the new Health Science wing, followed by a roundtable discussion on Career and Technical Education (CTE) partnerships held with students, industry partners—including Cargill, faculty, school districts, and other staff.
MCC will be the second of four stops while in Colorado. Dann-Messier will begin her trip in Sterling at Northeastern Junior College’s Adult Basic Education Program. After Fort Morgan, she will travel to Greeley’s Central High School to tour their CTE classrooms. The tour will conclude after visiting the Center for Adult Learning and discussing the Adult Literacy Project at Front Range Community College in Fort Collins.
