President Dr. Curt Freed

Dr. Curt Freed became the ninth president of Morgan Community College in April 2017. Before coming to MCC, Dr. Freed worked for over twenty years in community college roles, including as a tenured human services faculty member, dean for career and workforce development, dean for health sciences, and vice president for instruction at Columbia Basin College in Pasco, Washington. He served as vice president for instruction at Whatcom Community College in Bellingham, Washington prior to his appointment at MCC.

Dr. Freed holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Washington State University (WSU), a master’s degree in counseling/guidance from Heritage University, and a doctorate in Higher Education Administration from WSU. He believes that success comes from the ability to help the college and community feel well-cared for in an environment that promotes diversity, equity, and growth of others.
