STUDENT LIFE,
STUDENT ACTIVITIES
and the
STUDENT CENTER
|
 |
|
This climbing wall is typical of
the great activities for students and their families on the Fort Morgan
campus. |
|
The Student Center is a
place to go to meet people and relax between classes. In the Student Center,
students can get information on student clubs, activities, organizations,
health and wellness programs, student rights and responsibilities, and
Student Government. The Center is also a great place to study, watch your
favorite daytime soap on television, eat a quick lunch, or play a game of
pool.
Also, check out the MCC
Job Book, with country, state and out-of-state job listings posted. Student
government association provides free popcorn to students and a variety of
vending items are also available.

MCC's Student Center |
|
MCC's Student Center on
the main campus houses the bookstore, copy center, Anna C. Petteys Student
Lounge, kitchen, student conference room, a variety of vending machines, and
the student activity office. MCC thanks the MCC Foundation and the Jack Petteys Memorial Foundation of Brush for the generous donations.
Student Government
Association (SGA):
The
Student Government Association is always looking for student leaders who
are interested in serving as student liaisons in college/student
governance. Student Government offers an excellent opportunity to
strengthen leadership skills, work on issues affecting students, and
give input on the allocation of student fees. Officers for the executive
branch run for election in the spring, legislative officers run in the
fall. All students are encouraged to express their views on
policy-making operations and in administering policies that concern them
and other students. Student Government welcomes students to attend any
of the meetings to discuss their suggestions and concerns. Information
and a copy of the Student Government by-laws and constitution are
available from Judy Watson, Coordinator of Student Life at
judy.watson@morgancc.edu.
Student Clubs:
Meet new people, make new friends, learn and develop leadership skills,
and explore special interests! These are just a few of the advantages to
joining a club or an organization at MCC. Students can join a club on
campus or consider starting their own! Membership requirements will
vary from club to club but none discriminate on the basis of race, sex,
creed, color, age, national origin, veteran status, sexual orientation,
or individual disability. For more information on MCC clubs or if a
student would like to start a new club, contact Judy Watson at 542-3170
or e-mail at
judy.watson@morgancc.edu.
