Fort Morgan, CO. 06/26/18. Tradition has taken a twist this year. The Western Art Show, a special feature of the annual Brush Rodeo Association Fourth of July festivities, has Morgan Community College Center for Arts and Community Enrichment (CACE) Visual Arts Committee as its new coordinating partner.
Ten artists have committed to the 2018 show that is open to the public July 2 through July 4, from 1:00 to 7:00 PM each day. The show is held at the Morgan County Fairgrounds in the Mark Arndt Event Center, so it is easily accessible for rodeo audiences as well as other visitors. There is no admission charge to view the exhibit. The artists are not only showing their works, but also are offering the art for sale.
One of the art pieces will be chosen as the Western Art Show Best of Show and will be featured on the 2019 Brush Rodeo poster and in promotional materials. Mediums include drawings, paintings, photography and carvings by the following artists: Pat Ehrlich Samples, Jenny Robinson, Ken Harrell, Karol Mack, Nancy Hough, Sally Davisson and Richard Hass. Also exhibiting in the show are Theresa Conklin, Sue Hodgson, and Maria Cismowski.
MCC CACE Visual Arts brings local and visiting art exhibits to Morgan County on a regular basis throughout the year at the Gallery of Fine Art located at 300 Main Street in Fort Morgan. Co-chair Mary Zorn said, “Adopting the Western Art Show has been a privilege as well as a challenge. We want it to be the best it can be this year and grow the show in the years to come.”
