Fort Morgan, CO 07/18/18. For the eighth consecutive year, Morgan Community College (MCC) was named a “Great College to Work For” by The Chronicle of Higher Education. MCC is one of only 24 community colleges nationally to be recognized, and the only 2-year college in Colorado to receive the honor.
The Chronicle’s Great Colleges to Work For survey is the largest and most comprehensive workplace study in higher education. Now in its eleventh year, it recognizes colleges and universities that get top ratings from their employees on workforce practices and policies.
“Receiving this recognition for eight years is a true testament to the incredible people at MCC who spend their days educating and helping students and the communities we serve. This honor translates to providing incredible service to students, colleagues, and the public,” said MCC President, Dr. Curt Freed.
The results are based on surveys of more than 53,000 people at 253 institutions nationwide. In addition, each college completed an extensive institutional audit that captured demographics and workplace policies.
The Chronicle of Higher Education enlisted the services of ModernThink LLC to administer the survey and analyze the results. ModernThink is a human capital consulting firm that has conducted numerous “Best Places to Work” programs.
The Great Colleges to Work For distinction is well known by academic jobseekers as a sign that an institution’s employees are valued and given opportunities for growth. The full list of colleges selected for the recognition was published in The Chronicle’s July 15, 2018 Special Report on The Academic Workplace, and can be viewed at www.chronicle.com.
Morgan Community College’s main campus is located in Fort Morgan, Colorado and serves an 11,500 square mile service area with Centers in Bennett, Limon, Burlington, and Wray. The college employs 100 full-time staff and faculty and 130 part-time employees.
