Partnership program.  The program offers the popular entrepreneurship course where students learn to develop a business plan, project costs, and figure returns on investments.  The course culminates in a business plan competition where the top three students receive cash awards to start or expand their business.  The first, second, and third place students take away $10,000, $8,000, and $7,000 respectively.

The program was initially made possible by a grant from the El Pomar Foundation, but FMS Bank has played a significant role in supporting the program and students.  “FMS Bank has shown an incredible dedication to developing and promoting entrepreneurs and businesses throughout our region.  This donation allows MCC to continue to invest in students and their business ideas,” said Dr. Curt Freed, MCC President.

The FMS Bank donation not only supports business development, but encourages economic and workforce development throughout the region, which aligns with the bank’s mission statement, “Simply Committed to Your Success.”  It also reflects one of the bank’s values, which is “Community: Play an integral role in communities we serve through visible support and involvement.”  “The staff and students of Morgan Community College benefit from this commitment on a regular basis, and are grateful for the generosity and dedication of FMS Bank,” noted Dr. Freed.
