Presented by Community First Foundation and FirstBank, Colorado Gives Day is an annual statewide movement to celebrate and increase philanthropy through online giving. The event is powered by ColoradoGives.org, a year-round, online giving website. The MCC Foundation profile is available on the site and individuals can make a safe and secure donation in a few easy steps.
“Colorado Gives Day is one of our most important fundraisers of the year. Donations help us do more to support and ensure direct impact on our community,” says Kari Linker, Director of Development and the MCC Foundation. “Our goal is to raise $5,000 this year, which will help us touch many students’ lives. We also want to get a share of the $1 Million Incentive Fund.”
“Helping another person attend college and achieve his or her dream is one of the single greatest gifts with an unlimited positive return,” says Dr. Curt Freed, President of MCC. “The generational impact higher education makes means that gift will impact future lives as well.”
$1 Million Incentive Fund
Community First Foundation and FirstBank each contributed $500,000 to create a $1 Million Incentive Fund, one of the largest gives-day incentive funds in the country. Every nonprofit receiving a donation on Colorado Gives Day receives a portion of the fund, which increases the value of every dollar donated.
“It’s okay to be scared; it’s ok to fail a couple of classes; it’s ok to say “I don’t know how to do things”. It’s OK! Start by taking baby steps, that’d be my advice. I guarantee you, as you continue to do the same thing over and over, you can literally do anything. Repetition is the motherhood of learning, so don’t give up. Follow your dreams!”
