Gallery of Fine Art: Artist Application

Call for entries for 2018 Heritage Collection Exhibit

Morgan Community College’s Center for Art and Community Enrichment (CACE) Gallery for Fine Art is currently accepting artwork submissions for a May/June group exhibition exploring the perpetuation of one’s cultural heritage in today’s globalized and modern society. The artwork can focus on identity (homeland or language); experiences and influences, customs and practices inherited from past generations, or artifacts representing ancestry.

The application can be found below. Applications must be submitted no later than May 1 for consideration. This is a juried show. An artist may submit up to five images no larger than 2MB each of currently available artwork to be exhibited. All art mediums, both 2D and 3D, will be considered; however, due to gallery space restrictions, installations can’t be accepted. Please include an image list with artwork title, medium, dimensions, and a short description of each work addressing the artwork’s connection to the cultural heritage theme. Please include a short artist bio and artist statement.

Submissions from all locations are welcomed. In particular, artwork from those currently residing in northeast Colorado and Morgan Community College’s service area are encouraged to submit pieces for consideration. Those selected to exhibit will be contacted by May 3 regarding acceptance. Accepted works of art will need to be delivered to the CACE gallery, 300 Main Street, Fort Morgan, CO, no later than 4:00 p.m. on May 7. Any shipping or delivery expenses are the responsibility of the exhibiting artists.

The exhibition will be on display for the public May 10 – June 20 with an opening reception scheduled for Friday, May 10, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Works can be for sale or for display only. Please note that CACE retains 10% of the sale price on all pieces that are sold through the gallery.
