The following are new programs under development at Morgan Community College. Additional information will be available when programs have been fully approved by the Colorado Community College System and are ready to enroll students.
A career in law enforcement is a challenging yet rewarding journey. This career requires strong interpersonal skills as well as critical thinking and problem solving abilities necessary to determine appropriate courses of action. The Law Enforcement program at MCC is designed to provide current officers the opportunity to earn an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Law Enforcement through granting prior learning credits. This program grants credit for coursework already completed as evident by holding a current Peace Officer Standards and Training Certification in the State of Colorado. Pursuing an Associate of Applied Science Degree may open up doors for advancement in the field.
Viticulture and Enology
Viticulture is the science, production, and study of grapes. Enology is the study of wine and winemaking. Morgan Community College is exploring the creation of a program to teach people the science and art of growing grapes and making wine. Included in our plan is to develop a teaching winery in Fort Morgan with business incubators for graduates to start their own wineries. The program intends to capitalize on the agricultural resources of eastern Colorado, and promote agri-tourism across the region. The program will also teach business principles, marketing, and entrepreneurship skills to students to start and maintain their own business.
