MCC Partners with VFW Fort Morgan Post 2551 for Veterans Plaza Project

The Veterans Plaza is a collaborative effort between Morgan Community College and VFW Fort Morgan Post 2551.
Morgan Community College (MCC) is proud to announce a partnership with the VFW Fort Morgan Post 2551 in the construction of a Veterans Plaza on the MCC Fort Morgan campus. A dedication ceremony for the Veterans Plaza is scheduled for November 10, 2023, at 10 AM. The event will be held off the east parking lot at the MCC campus, 920 Barlow Road, with a reception and light refreshments to follow.

The Veterans Plaza is a collaborative effort between Morgan Community College and VFW Fort Morgan Post 2551. The VFW Post generously donated $32,000 to make the project a reality. The plaza is designed to provide a peaceful and reflective space where veterans, students, and the community can pay tribute to those who have served in the armed forces.

“It is an honor and privilege for MCC to partner on this important project, giving space to veterans, their families, and the community to reflect and remember the dedication of those who served our nation,” said Dr. Curt Freed, MCC President.  “MCC is very grateful for the generous donation by the VFW Fort Morgan to provide a lasting monument for the community.”

Morgan Community College and the VFW Fort Morgan Post 2551 extend an invitation to all members of the community to attend the dedication ceremony to honor and remember the service and sacrifices of those who have selflessly defended our nation.

“The Veterans of Foreign Wars is dedicated to honoring the service men and women that have served our great country and we appreciate the opportunity to be involved in the building of the Veterans Plaza at MCC.  Our desire is for it to serve as a reminder of their sacrifices in protecting our country and maintaining our quality of life,” stated Preston Klimper, VFW Quartermaster VFW Post 2551 . “We hope it will give all a space to reflect while enjoying a pleasant atmosphere at the campus.”
