Discover the Power of Journalism
Do you enjoy storytelling and discovering the truth? These are two key parts of a career in journalism. Whether writing for newspapers or reporting live on television, journalists inform the public by researching issues, asking questions, and sharing accurate stories. They help keep communities informed, hold leaders accountable, and report on important events while working in fast-paced environments and meeting tight deadlines. From covering a big game as a sports reporter to reporting from around the world, journalists are often close to the action.
What Will You Learn?
In a Journalism associate program, you will study mass media, learn how to conduct interviews, and practice writing news stories. You will also explore topics such as truth, accuracy, and ethics in reporting. This degree can transfer to universities that offer bachelor’s degrees in Journalism, Mass Communications, or Communication and Media.
What is a Transfer Degree?
A transfer degree from Morgan Community College is a smart way to begin your college journey. You’ll complete your first two years at MCC, where classes are smaller and more affordable. Then, you can transfer to a four-year public university in Colorado to finish your bachelor’s degree.
These degrees are called Degrees with Designation (DwDs). That means they’re set up to match the program you plan to transfer into, depending on the university you choose.
To make sure you're on the right path, it's very important to talk with an advisor early. They’ll help you choose the right courses based on your transfer goals.
