Meet the Faculty

Faculty
Dr. Steven Sjostedt
Raised in New England, Dr. Sjostedt pursued education in the South, earning a BS in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro and a PhD in Earth and Atmospheric Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology. After graduation, he completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Toronto before working as a research scientist for Environment Canada and the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences.
In 2016, Dr. Sjostedt transitioned to teaching, spending a year at Burlington High School before accepting a faculty position at Morgan Community College. Since then, he has taught Chemistry, Conceptual Physics, Soil Science, Environmental Science, and Integrated Science.
Dr. Sjostedt is married to Melanie Roberts, and together they have two sons, William and Samuel, along with two pets, Lois and Luna.
