What is a Transfer Degree?
A transfer degree from Morgan Community College is a smart way to begin your college journey. You’ll complete your first two years at MCC, where classes are smaller and more affordable. Then, you can transfer to a four-year public university in Colorado to finish your bachelor’s degree.
These degrees are called Degrees with Designation (DwDs). That means they’re set up to match the program you plan to transfer into, depending on the university you choose.
To make sure you're on the right path, it's very important to talk with an advisor early. They’ll help you choose the right courses based on your transfer goals.

Choose this if: You want a customized degree focused on your goals and interests, but do not intend to transfer.
Associate of Arts (AA)
The AA degree is also meant to transfer and usually covers the first two years of a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.). You can choose a general AA or one with a specific program focus, such as education, business, or social sciences.
Choose this if: You want to transfer in areas like teaching, business, or social work—or if you’re exploring different fields before choosing a major.
Associate of Science (AS)
The AS degree is designed to transfer to a university and usually counts as the first two years of a Bachelor of Science (B.S.). You can choose a general AS or one with a specific program focus, like pre-engineering, medical, or science pathways.

Associate of Applied Science (AAS)
The AAS degree is designed to prepare you for a career right after graduation. It focuses on hands-on training and technical skills in fields like healthcare, business, technology, and skilled trades. While the AAS is not mainly designed for transfer, some courses may transfer to certain four-year programs if you plan ahead with an advisor.
