MCC Welcomes New Executive Director of Human Resources

Abbott will lead human resources initiatives that support MCC faculty and staff across northeast Colorado.

Morgan Community College (MCC) welcomes Amada Abbott as the new Executive Director of Human Resources. With a strong background in strategic HR leadership and a passion for employee engagement and development, Abbott brings more than a decade of experience in both the public and private sectors to her new role at MCC.

Abbott most recently served as HR Business Partner at Buildings By Design, LLC in Brush, CO. Her previous roles include employee experience and recruitment leadership at Cargill, HR representation at Sparboe Farms, and patient experience advising with Banner Health. Her career has been defined by a commitment to aligning workforce strategies with organizational goals and fostering high-performing, engaged teams.

In her role at MCC, Abbott will lead human resources initiatives that support MCC faculty and staff across northeast Colorado. Her expertise includes leadership development, talent acquisition, employee engagement, legal compliance, and performance management, key areas that will directly support MCC’s mission and culture.

Her leadership will be instrumental in fostering a supportive and dynamic workplace for our faculty, staff, and students.”

Throughout her career, Abbott has successfully designed and implemented programs that enhance leadership capability, improve employee retention, and elevate workplace morale. Among her many accomplishments, she led the development of a company-wide leadership program, redesigned performance management systems, and conducted compliance audits to ensure alignment with Colorado and federal employment laws.

Abbott holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Human Resources from Ashford University, and a Bachelor of Science in Recreation, Tourism, and Hospitality from the University of Northern Colorado.
