MCC Renovations and Temporary Service Relocations

The primary check-in and assistance area for these services will be located in Cottonwood Hall, Room 111.

Morgan Community College (MCC) will undergo facility renovations this summer in the Spruce Hall and Cottonwood Hall areas on the Fort Morgan campus. Beginning May 18, portions of campus will transition into construction zones, and some areas will be temporarily unavailable.

The renovations will create updated student-centered spaces, including a new Career Center and one-stop student services model in Cottonwood Hall, along with improvements to the Learning Resource Center. The STEM Studio in Cottonwood Hall will also receive upgrades. Additional renovations in Spruce Hall will modernize STEM classroom lab spaces with updated equipment, storage, and instructional areas to better support hands-on learning and workforce preparation. The majority of these improvements are being funded through federal grants.

Visitors coming to campus are encouraged to use the west Spruce Hall entrance directly off Barlow Road or the Aspen Hall entrance on the east side of campus near the Student Center. Signage and information stations will be available to help direct students and visitors to temporarily relocated offices and services.

Welcome Center staff and Admissions, Advising, and Financial Aid offices will be temporarily relocated throughout campus during renovations. The primary check-in and assistance area for these services will be located in Cottonwood Hall, Room 111.

The MCC Testing Center will close for relocation from May 11 through May 25 and will reopen Tuesday, May 26, 2026, in the HR Conference Room, located in the lower level of Aspen Hall. During the temporary relocation, the Testing Center will continue offering Accuplacer, instructor, Pearson, and GED exams. CLEP testing will not be available while the Testing Center is operating in the temporary space.

The MCC Learning Resource Center will close beginning May 18 as part of the renovation process. During the closure:

  • Library research assistance, citation help, chat reference, and library instruction will continue remotely and by appointment.
  • Student equipment checkout will be available in Cottonwood Hall Room 139 (the former Tutoring Center room) from May 18 through June 4, and by appointment for the remainder of the summer.
  • Library staff will continue working remotely to support students and faculty.
  • Students may use computers and printing services in the Student Center.
  • Information and library contact details will be available on the MCC website.

MCC looks forward to welcoming students, employees, and the community into these newly updated spaces following the completion of renovations.
