MCC Accepting Nominations for “Educator Spotlight”

The “Educator Spotlight” is MCC's way of celebrating the commitment, creativity, and care of educators in our communities.

Morgan Community College (MCC) launched an initiative to recognize outstanding educators who make a difference in the lives of students and the community. Nominations are now open for MCC’s “Educator Spotlight,” a program designed to honor outstanding educators who demonstrate a commitment to student success, use innovative teaching methods, and make meaningful contributions to the broader community.

In addition to recognizing outstanding Pre-K to grade twelve educators in the region, MCC will highlight the work of its own educators in preparing the next generation of teachers and equipping students to enter the workforce in a variety of careers.

MCC’s education-related programs include Early Childhood Education, the Teacher Education K-12 Licensure Pathway, and the Bachelor of Applied Science in Technology Education. MCC faculty equip students with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience needed to succeed in classrooms across Colorado. Their dedication not only supports current students but also helps address the growing demand for qualified educators.

Jamie Hochanadel, a faculty member in the Education Department, joined MCC in 2020 as an adjunct instructor in Early Childhood Education. Prior to working at MCC, Hochanadel worked for the Morgan County School District at Sherman Early Childhood Center for eight years. She received her B.A. in Early Childhood Education from the University of Northern Colorado, her M.A. in Early Childhood Education from Grand Canyon University, and her Ed.S. in Educational Leadership from Northwest Missouri State University. Hochanadel is passionate about preparing the next generation of educators.

“Educators are the heart of our communities,” said MCC Education Faculty, Jamie Hochanadel. “The “Educator Spotlight” is our way of celebrating the commitment, creativity, and care that our educators bring to students and to the communities we serve.”

Community members are invited to submit nominations through MCC’s “Educator Spotlight” form. Selected honorees will be highlighted on MCC’s Facebook pages (MCC Main; MCC Bennett; MCC Burlington; MCC Limon; MCC Wray).
