Morgan Community College (MCC) announces two employee transitions that reflect the college’s ongoing commitment to student success and professional growth. Both employees are MCC alumnae who continue to advance their careers while serving students in new capacities.
Elizabeth Gonzales has transitioned to the position of Financial Aid Advisor, effective November 1, 2025. Elizabeth began her MCC career on March 1, 2025, as a Financial Aid & Enrollment Specialist, where she guided students through the enrollment process and helped them access financial aid resources. In her new role, she will provide financial aid counseling and education to both current and prospective students through outreach on and off campus—helping them navigate FAFSA and CASFA applications, promoting financial literacy, and connecting students to scholarship opportunities that make higher education more accessible. Gonzales brings more than ten years of experience in sales, operations, and customer service, along with bilingual communication skills that enhance her ability to serve MCC’s diverse student population.
Vanesa Sanchez has transitioned to new responsibilities as the Education Department Student Liaison, also effective November 1, 2025. Sanchez joined MCC in September 2021 as a Success Coach for the CTE Immersion Program. From there she assumed the role of STEM Coach in July 2022 and in June of 2023 became the Title V SUCCESS Director, where she led grant initiatives that expanded academic support and student engagement. Her new position allows her to continue serving students directly, supporting future educators, and advancing student success. In addition to being a graduate of MCC, Sanchez holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) and a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration and Leadership from Adam’s State University.
“MCC congratulates both Elizabeth and Vanesa on their new roles,” stated MCC Executive Director of Human Resources, Amada Abbott. “We are so appreciative of their continued dedication to serving students and advancing MCC’s mission to empower students and enrich communities.”
