This program is designed just for high school students, including homeschool students, who want to explore the exciting world of healthcare. You’ll build a strong foundation in health science and get real-life experience that prepares you for careers in the medical field.

This program is only open to high school students, including those who are homeschooled. It’s a great way to explore your options and see if a healthcare career is right for you—before you even graduate! Whether you want to start working in healthcare right after high school or continue your education in a college-level health program, HST gives you the tools and experience to move forward.

Program Tracks

In the final spring semester of this two-year program, students will choose between two different work-based learning tracks. These options provide students with hands-on experiences in real-world healthcare settings.

Track 1: Nurse Aide

A nurse aide helps care for patients by checking vital signs, helping with daily tasks like bathing and eating, and supporting nurses in hospitals and other care settings.

Track 2: Behavior Health Plus-Certificate

The behavioral health pathway teaches students how to support people with mental health or substance use issues. Students get real experience working with patients and professionals.

Meet the Faculty

MCC staff member Kiley David

Faculty

Kiley David

Kiley began her journey at MCC as a student and graduated from the ADN nursing program in 2009. She has worked as a labor and delivery nurse for 15 years in the Fort Morgan community and remains working PRN at CommonSpirit St. Elizabeth Hospital. Kiley received her Bachelor of Nursing from Walden University in 2015 and started working at MCC that same year as a Clinical Nursing Instructor. In 2018 Kiley joined MCC as a full-time Health Science Technology Instructor and has found her passion for health education.

Kiley lives in Fort Morgan and enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and three children.
