Do you enjoy helping others? Want to explore a career in healthcare? The Nurse Aide program at MCC is a great way to get started.

In just 8 weeks to one semester, you can learn the basic skills needed to care for people and make a real difference. This part-time program includes both classroom lessons and real-world experience in local care facilities.

What You’ll Learn:

  • How to help people with daily activities like eating, getting dressed, and staying clean
  • How to measure things like blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature
  • How to stay safe by using gloves, gowns, and masks
  • How to care for patients of all ages in places like hospitals, nursing homes, and even in their homes

Meet the Faculty

MCC staff member Lynne Collins

Lynne Collins

Lynne is a Fort Morgan native who began her higher education journey at MCC. She received her Associate of Science degree from MCC in 1998, then transferred to the University of Northern Colorado, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 2001. She also earned her Master of Science in Nursing with an emphasis in education from Walden University in 2012.

Lynne began her nursing career at Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan, now known as St. Elizabeth Centura, in the Obstetrics Unit. Over the course of her career, she has worked in Acute Rehab, Medical Surgery, the Intensive Care Unit, Long Term Care, Assisted Living and the Behavior Health Unit. Lynne is the full-time Nurse Aide Faculty for MCC and teaches Nurse Aide, Clinical Medical Assistant, First Aid, and CPR courses.
