The Legendary Ladies “Unconventional Women of the West”

MCC Center for Arts and Community Enrichment presents The Legendary Ladies “Unconventional Women of the West” on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 12:30 p.m.

The live performance will be held in Bloedorn Lecture Hall on the MCC Fort Morgan campus (920 Barlow Road, Fort Morgan, CO).

History will come alive as The Legendary Ladies introduce six women characters and reveal the mark they made on the West. The program will feature Amelia Earhart, author and first American female pilot to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean; Dr. Florence Sabin, an American medical researcher and professor at John Hopkins; Dr. Susan Anderson, a Colorado frontier physician; Baseball Hall of Famer Maud Nelson; Motorist Alice Ramsey; and Lady Miner “Captain Jack.”

Founded in 1992 by Joan Hemm, The Legendary Ladies is a non-profit, educational, women’s performance organization whose mission is to promote the history of women who made unique contributions to the West. The live performances celebrate and educate through the stories and accomplishments of real women who made a significant impact in American history. The Legendary Ladies group is comprised of approximately twenty women who volunteer their time for research, rehearsal, costume creation, and performance.

The performance is free and open to the public, made possible due to generous donors who support the mission of CACE. Individuals attending the Brush and Fort Morgan Area Chambers of Commerce Administrative Professionals luncheon at MCC that day are also invited to attend this special performance.
