Private scholarship winners announced Featured

Ryan Canham receives a congratulatory handshake from John Goetz upon leaning he had been awarded the Goetz Family Scholarship. Also attending the occasion was Barb Goetz Keenan. Canham is studying automotive service technology at Morgan Community College. The Goetz Family Scholarship is the most comprehensive award at the college. It pays tuition, fees, books and a living expense allowance. The financial aid office at Morgan Community College announced forty-eight privately funded scholarships for students enrolled in the college this fall. "Receiving a scholarship can make all the difference for a student's opportunity to go to college," according to Carol Steward, MCC Financial Aid Advisor.

 

Morgan Community College launched its search for an eye-catching photo for the 2011 MCC calendar, according to Mary Zorn, director of the project.
Morgan Community College is hosting the third annual exhibit by the Morgan County Shutterbugs Photography Club.

About 20 framed photographs are on display in Cottonwood Hall during the months of August and September.

The selection, according to the award letter, is a result of the understanding of and commitment to education and career placement for the encore career population, the 50+ population who want to do full or part time work after retiring from a previous career.
Col. Capozzella presented CCCS with "The Commander's Coin of Excellence." Col. Capozzella recognized CCCS for excellence in fulfilling its state-designated responsibilities for not only supporting and coordinating community colleges but all aspects of career and technical education (CTE) delivered by public secondary (e.g., high schools) and postsecondary entities across Colorado.
Peter Davidson Author and publishing industry consultant Peter Davidson will present a seminar, How to Get Your Book Published, at Morgan Community College in Fort Morgan on Monday, July 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The first will be Wednesday, July 14, and the second on Tuesday, August 10. Both sessions will be held in Cottonwood 101 at 6:00 P.M.
